David Henry is the founding Principal of David Henry & Company Solicitors, established in January 2014.

David graduated from NUI Galway with a degree in Law and Irish in 2004 before qualifying as a Solicitor with the Law Society of Ireland. Subsequent to his qualification as a Solicitor, David studied for a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Queens University Belfast. As part of his Masters Degree dissertation David conducted a comparative analysis of the use of DNA evidence in criminal trials in this jurisdiction, Northern Ireland and the UK.

Prior to founding David Henry and Company in 2014 he practiced law in San Francisco, California where he worked primarily in the area of commercial litigation.

David has extensive experience in criminal defence litigation with cases originating in the District Court through to the Circuit Court, High Court and Central Criminal Court.

In addition, David has represented hundreds of plaintiffs in their medical negligence and personal injury cases particularly within the jurisdiction of the High Court. 

Frank-Aran Murphy

Frank-Aran Murphy is a Buncrana local,  currently engaged in his Traineeship with David Henry and Company.

Frank was awarded a degree in Corporate Law from N.U.I. Galway in 2012 and subsequently received an LLB from N.U.I. Galway in 2013. 

Frank is particularly interested in and has already acquired considerable experience in Liquor Licensing Law, Probate and Commercial Law. Frank intends to pursue his interest in those areas of law upon qualification.

Darragh McLaughlin

Darragh McLaughlin qualified as a Solicitor in 2004 and has over twelve years’ experience.Darragh has experience of practice in England and Wales, and in Northern Ireland, but has practiced in Donegal since his return to live there in 2007. He specialises in property, private clients and family business.

Throughout his career Darragh has dealt with thousands of property transactions both residential and commercial, development sites, housing estates and commercial Leases.

Over the past six years with the downturn in the world economy there have been significant changes in the complexity and stress for the parties involved dealing with even the most straightforward types of transaction. Darragh’s experience here has led to the successful completion of many property transactions over the past three years where his insight has protected his client’s interests and secured a successful completion of transactions despite the adverse circumstances.

In the last couple of years Darragh has also been involved on behalf of many clients in re-negotiating their position with their lending institutions and has successfully negotiated satisfactory solutions.

On the private client side of the business Darragh is involved in Wills and Estate Planning ensuring that wealth can be passed to the next generation in the most tax effective manner. 

With asset values currently depressed it is a good time to consider asset transfers in families, and many clients are taking the opportunity to do this. 

Darragh has also been involved on the finance side in a number of transactions involving settlements and acquisitions from NAMA and other financial institutions.

Darragh has also extensively advised commercial clients in many different circumstances including acquisition of commercial units, business assets and share purchases, partnership agreements and general ongoing advice in company law matters of all degrees of complexity.
